Medical Work

One of the greatest assets used by God on the mission field in Romania is the medical teams. The medical assistance is very poor in Romania. In villages and remote areas it is almost inexistent. Common medicines are hard to find. But even where they are available in the store the majority of the people cannot afford them.

RAM is seeking to send a medical team to each mission site, to work along with the evangelistic team. Medicines are collected in the United States, carefully sorted and packed, and transported to Romania in suitcases by the mission team members. Once on the mission field temporary clinics are established (formed by a medical doctor, one or two nurses, and Romanian interpreters). In most of the cases the doctors see over 100 patients a day. The patients are waiting in long lines for hours to be seen by an American doctor and receive free medication. Touched by the love of the medical team members they open their hearts to the Gospel message they hear from the evangelistic team members. Many accept Christ as their Lord and Savior and become active church members. A good example of the efficiency of the medical missions is the Holy Trinity Baptist Church of Braila. Over 70% of their new members in the last four years came to know the Lord through the Christian Medical Clinic Diaconia, associated with the church.
