Medical Work
One of the
greatest assets used by God on the mission field in Romania is the
medical teams. The medical assistance is very poor in Romania and
Moldova. In villages and remote areas, it is almost non-existent.
Common medicines are hard to find and even where they are available
the majority of the people cannot afford them.
RAM is seeking to send a medical team to each mission site to work
along with the evangelistic team members. Medicines are collected in
the United States, carefully sorted and packed, and transported to
Romania by the mission team members. In order to get permission from
the Romanian government to introduce the medicines in the country of
Romania, RAM has to file the donation paperwork through the Diaconia
Medical Center in Braila. Once on the mission field temporary
clinics are established (formed by a medical doctor, one or two
nurses, a pharmacist, and Romanian interpreters). The patients wait
in long lines for hours to be seen by an American doctor and to
receive free medicines. Touched by the love of the medical teams,
the Romanian people open their hearts to the Gospel message as the
evangelistic team members witness to them. Some accept Christ as
their Lord and Savior and become active church members. The unused
medicines are given to the Diaconia Medical Center in Braila to be
prescribed freely to their patients.
Go to serve the Lord in Romania or Moldova as part of a medical
team and you will make a difference for Christ in that part of the
world! If you are interested in joining a medical team, please
contact the RAM office in Decatur, AL.
