Mission Strategy
Vision for a New
Strategy - Work With Strategic Romanian Churches
Hereafter, RAM in America, partnering with RAM of Romania, will work
with, in and through “Strategic Churches” to fulfill its vision.
“A Strategic Church” is defined as a strong, growing, missionary
congregation in the unevangelized areas of Romania, with strong,
godly leadership, that can offer opportunities for RAM to fulfill
its vision and provide supervision and accountability in a mutually
agreed upon mission or ministry. In working through the “Strategic
Churches,” RAM in America would seek to accomplish several things.
First, RAM is seeking to support these strategic congregations and
help empower them to become strong regional-type churches, with an
ever-increasing positive witness among the people as well as those
in power, often communists, who seek to portray evangelical churches
as cultic, dangerous, bent on taking what they can get from people.
In order to strengthen
the witness of the “Strategic Churches,” RAM will seek to help each
one of these, following the Braila model, to establish a medical
clinic for the poor as a strategic part of its ministry. This would
enhance the witness of the church in the community, establishing its
desire to give to those in need not take what the people have.
A medical clinic in conjunction with a strong congregation has also
proved to be the most effective means of opening the door into the
church. The rapidly growing Holy Trinity Church in Braila has
discovered that 70% of their new members are converts who came to
know Jesus as Savior and Lord through the ministry of the medical
clinic.
Also, RAM will seek to help the Strategic Churches, in time, develop
training centers, perhaps satellite centers, with a working
relationship with Holy Trinity’s Braila Bible College. Trained
leadership is an absolute necessity to develop strong churches that
can reach their country for Christ.
Second, RAM is working through the “Strategic Churches” in planting
new churches, and sponsoring missionary pastors on the field. As
these strong “mother” churches are led by the Lord to plant other
congregations in fertile areas around them, RAM in America will be
invited to partner with them in providing financial and other
necessary support (such as church buildings) that our Romanian
brothers and sisters cannot provide.
