TRAVEL ADVISORY
Dear RAM Friends,
I continue to stand by my position that COVID-19 is no more dangerous than the flu. Primarily, senior adults or people with a weakened immune system have the greatest risk. While we do not want anyone to “catch” COVID-19, the fatality rate is low. With that said, the world-wide panic is causing me to approach our trips more cautiously.
I recently received news that in Romania, they are placing people in quarantine who come into the country on planes that someone has symptoms of COVID-19. In California, 3,500 people are stranded on the Grand Princess cruise ship. Furthermore, the International Mission Board and the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions have determined not to endorse any international mission trips at this time. I believe that the better part of wisdom is for RAM to follow their lead. Therefore, until further notice, RAM will not endorse our overseas trips this summer. I have notified the University of Mobile of this development, and we have canceled the Voices of Mobile Romania tour.
RAM cannot force anyone to postpone their trip. However, we strongly urge you to take a “wait and see” position, especially if you are traveling into an area that you may face quarantine. Also remember, there is the threat of being quarantined as you attempt to re-enter the U.S.A.
What can you do? Pray that this world-wide panic will point people to the only Prince of Peace! Pray for the rapid discovery of a vaccine. Pray that the approaching warm weather will slow the spread of COVID-19. Pray for many more open doors of opportunity to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
On a different note, RAM is challenged to think of new ways to raise money to further the kingdom of God. Soncoast Publishing has been born out of this vision. Check us out and pray that God opens the door for effective ministry! Click here and read about us https://soncoastpublishing.com . Also, continue to pray God will reveal ways you can make more money to give away. The time is short!
Thank you for your partnership in the Gospel!
