Who We Are
The Romanian-American
Mission, Inc. (RAM) emerged from a local congregational ministry of
the Buck Run Baptist Church, Frankfort, KY, when the Baptist Union
of Romania, urged pastor Bob Jackson, to found an organization of
individuals and churches in the U.S. that would help reach Romania
for Christ. In the summer of 1996, RAM was officially organized at
the First Baptist Church of Robertsdale, AL.
For a
decade, RAM has been involved primarily in Romania and Moldavia.
Once Romania entered the European Union, in 2007, God has opened the
door for effective ministry for RAM in a number of countries where
displaced Romanians have located in the last few years. Now
over four million Romanians have found a home and a place in
significant enclaves in major European cities. RAM is
currently serving our Lord in such areas as Moldova, Serbia, Spain
and Austria as well as Romania.
While the majority of those involved with us are Baptists, RAM is an
independent mission force for Christ that opens wide its arms to the
involvement of Great Commission Christians and churches regardless
of denominational tradition.
The Romanian-American Mission has its office located in the Central
Baptist Church building in Decatur, Alabama. Marilyn Ladd is the
Administrative Assistant to Dr. Bob Jackson, our president. RAM also
has an office in Bucharest, Romania, managed by Dr. Cristi Chivu,
RAM’s International Coordinator.
