Cristi
Chivu is the
International Coordinator for the Romanian-American Mission. He
works in the RAM Romania office in Bucharest, Romania. Cristi was
saved under the preaching of Josh McDowell in March 1990 in
Bucharest, while a college student. In 1993 God called him in the
ministry through illness. At first he served with the Missions
Department of the Baptist Union of Romania. In 1994 he met Dr.
Robert Jackson who led a mission team to Romania from Buck Run
Baptist Church. They remained friends and co-laborers on the mission
field ever since. In 1996, at Dr. Jackson’s invitation Cristi moved
to the United States to attend Southern Baptist Theological Seminary
and coordinate the RAM office work in Frankfort, KY. In 2005 he
moved back to Romania where he served for two years as the outreach
pastor for the Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Braila. He now serves
full time with RAM, leading the mission work on the European side of
the ocean.
Cristi holds a Bachelor
of Science Degree from the Electrical Engineering School –
Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest, a Master’s Degree and a PhD
Degree in Evangelism, Missions and Church Planting from the Southern
Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY.
Cristi has participated
in and organized multiple mission projects with RAM in Romania,
Moldova, Serbia, Austria, and Spain. He oversees the work of the RAM
missionaries, preaches, and teaches evangelism, discipleship and
missions to missionaries and pastors in Southeastern Romania in a
modular on-the-field teaching setting.
Cristi is married
since 1993 to his beautiful wife Simona.
